My ears are still ringing from the concert I went to last night. Ty Segall’s garage rock makes a Black Keys album sound overproduced. The massive amount of fuz coming out of both guitars, bass and vocals melt together to form one, massive growl. It was a little annoying, but when you are rocking out as hard and loud as we were, it almost doesn’t make a difference. I haven’t moshed like that since a Sift concert in high school (shout out to my cousin Bob).
After Ty played this crazy Israeli metal band, Monotonix, that travels around the venue during their set. I’m talking picking up the drum set and moving it through the crowd after every song. The singer scaled the wall to the second level balcony and dove off at one point.
This concert was hectic, and I’m impressed that I ONLY lost my cell phone. Well, I’m off to the sprint store to activate my cousin’s 2001 Sanyo.
